What is Animaker and how good is it?

Animaker is an animation suite that allows you to make your own animation videos for marketing, promotion, education or business.

Animaker is web based so there is nothing for you to install.

All you have to do is drag and drop elements into your video production.

This includes a library of images, music, characters which you can add to your productions.

Animaker use a subscription based model.

 

Let us look at Animaker in more detail.

With the amount of hacks and malware going around these day, is Animaker safe?

The simple answer is yes.

That is because you do not need to download anything to your computer.

The site uses “HTTPS”, a secure type of web protocol (as opposed to regular “HTTP”).

Is Animaker FREE?

The answer is yes and no.

The Free version allows you to make video, but it is very restrictive.

For example the length of videos is restricted to 2 minutes.

Although you can access a lot of the features such as templates and images, you cannot download the video once it is complete.

The only way you can download your completed video is to pay the $12 monthly subscription.

How easy is Animaker to use?

Animaker is very easy to use.

Once you have signed up you are taken that asks for your level of experience.

If you are just trying it out or experimenting I would recommend you click on the other.

From here you will be shown the templates that are available for you to use.

You can now start to produce your first video.

 

Free users only have access to the free templates.

You may have to enable your flash player if you get a warning message.

All you have to do do is click enable.

The following page should then appear.

 

The first step in setting up your video is to choose a character that you want to present your video.

You do this by selecting a character from the right hand side of the screen.

There are many different positions for the character.

Once you have selected one the positions will appear on the left hand side of the screen.

From here you can then select the properties of the character on the far right of the screen.

 

The properties are clipart backgrounds that you can use to enhance the appearance of your videos.

You get a larger selection if your have paid for a subscription.

The box on the right hand side of the screen also has other properties that you can change.

These include:

  • backgrounds
  • text
  • numbers and charts
  • special effects
  • music
  • upload your own  jpeg or png image.  Animated GIF’s are not allowed.
  • Upload your own voice to explain something.

If you want to use your own camera or microphone you will have to accept the pop up that will appear.

 

There are many other effects that you can add to you video such as:

  • Scenes, animation and timelines
  • transitions

Finally you can save your video and export or share it to places suck as YouTube.

 

There are many more features available and I would recommend you spend time seeing what is available to you.

As stated previously some of these features are only available to paid members.
